Teenagers are usually on the cutting edge of trends and fads. They’re always on the lookout for new and different things to help them work on their identity. They want to identify with something that makes them feel good about themselves. When something new comes out, teens and their peers check it out. If it stays for a little while, it’s a fad. If it stays longer it becomes a trend. While some teen fads are dangerous, like huffing, most are harmless. To keep up with fads, talk to your teen, pay attention to the media your teen uses, and, for harmless fads, sit back and enjoy them.
